The area comprises of a large area of heathland with both deciduous and conifer woodland.
(*1), from around the car park area scan for overflying Águia-d'asa-redonda, peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, Gavião da Europa and Milhafre-real. During the Summer Bútio-vespeiro are sometimes seen. More open areas have can have Pombo-bravo, Tordeia, Pica-pau-verde, Petinha-dos-prados, Laverca and Cotovia-pequena. Gorse (Ulex) patches have Felosa-do-mato and Cartaxo-comum.
(*2), Broadleaved woodland here hold Bico-grossudo, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno, Trepadeira-azul, Trepadeira-do-bosque. In Summer Rola-comum, Papa-moscas-cinzento, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca, Felosa-comum, Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto and Cuco-canoro can all be expected. Birch (Betula) trees can attract Cartaxo-nortenho, Felosa-assobiadeira, Felosa-das-figueiras, Felosa-musical, papa-amoras-cinzento, Pintarroxo-comum, Dom-fafe and Chapim-rabilongo.
(*3), Court Copse area, scattered scrub here on the North edge of the copse, have 'roding' Galinhola and 'churring" Noitibó da Europa in the evenings. More open areas have Petinha-dos-prados and Laverca, scattered trees can have Cotovia-pequena and Petinha-das-árvores.
Be sure to check any scrubland for Escrevedeira-amarela, Cartaxo-comum, Pintarroxo-comum, Papa-amoras-comum and papa-amoras-cinzento. Conifers around the site can have Estrelinha-de-poupa, Estrelinha-de-cabeça-listada, Chapim-preto, Lugre and the occasional Cruza-bico-comum.

Leave the M27 motorway at junction 2, on roundabout take exit signed Salisbury/Romsey/Fawley/A36, at next roundabout take second exit signed Salisbury/Plaitford/Wellow/A36. Continue on this road turning Left at sign for Bradshaw, pass over cattle grid onto Black Hill Road. Continue on this road and large car park (free) is on the Left.
