Malham Cove is a regular nest site for falcão-peregrino, Andorinho-dos-beirais, Mocho-galego, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca and Chasco-cinzento. RSPB volunteers with telescope in attendance. Malham Tarn is a National Nature Reserve and SSSI. There are breeding Perna-vermelha-comum, alvéola-amarela, Alvéola-cinzenta, Melro-d'água, Abibe-comum, Maçarico-das-rochas and water voles. Possibility of Borrelho-ruivo in autumn and Escrevedeira-das-neves in winter.

Malham is a short way north of the A65 transpennine road from Lancaster to Skipton. There is no car parking at the Cove, park in Malham village and walk or cycle up. For Malham tarn, leave Malham northward on Cove road and turn right at crossroads.
