Descrição
Mere Sands Wood is a Lancashire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for species like Dom-fafe, Pardal-montez, Pica-pau-malhado-grande and Gavião da Europa as they fly to and from their nests in the woodland. If you take a seat in one of the lakeside hides you may see Mergulhão-de-crista performing their elaborate courtship ritual. Guarda-rios-comum are present as well as wintering Abetouro-comum. The lakes and reedbeds also support Frango-d'água, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Pato-olho-d'ouro, Zarro-comum and more.There are multiple hides, and it's easy walking.
