Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (Papa-moscas-preto Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as Galo-lira, Maçarico-das-rochas and Melro-d'água. Among the other birds you can encounter are Melro-de-peito-branco, Alvéola-cinzenta, Lugre and Laverca.
