Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest lies on the southwestern tip of Anglesey and stretches along the Menai Strait. The reserve has dunes, beach and forest, and the Llanddwyn Island peninsula has rocky coastlines and is also a tidal area, which attracts many bird species. It is also a good area for birdwatching during the migration period. Birds you can observe include Ganso-de-faces-negras, Pilrito-comum, Rola-do-mar, Maçarico-real, Ostraceiro, Pilrito-sanderlingo, Perna-vermelha-comum, Alvéola-branca ssp yarrellii and Corvo-marinho-de-crista.

Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest is located on the Isle of Anglesey near the village of Newborough. Continue along the road through the village of Newborough and you'll arrive at the large car park. Press P on the map for directions. You'll need to enter through a barrier/payment system. Be sure to bring your debit card!
The nature reserve can only be accessed on foot. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 6 km. The walk includes forest, beach and the Llanddwyn Island peninsula. Llanddwyn Island is not a true island, it remains connected to the mainland except at the highest tides. When the tide recedes, a sandy causeway appears, allowing visitors to walk across from Newborough Beach.
