Descrição
NWT Ranworth Broad is accessible to all and boasts a great visitor centre (which is open in the spring and summer) with wide views over Ranworth Broad. The broad (lake) itself offers chances to see Mergulhão-de-crista, Guarda-rios-comum and Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis throughout the year, while the boardwalk trail supports Chapim-palustre, Dom-fafe and Frango-d'água may also be heard.
In winter, the broad will be busy with feeding wildfowl including Piadeira, Marrequinha-comum, Pato-trombeteiro, Arrabio and a few Zarro-negrinha. In periods of harsh weather, Abetouro-comum, Zarro-bastardo and other scarcer species may be seen. The alder trees on the trail from the car park may hold good numbers of Lugre and pintarroxo-pequeno.
In summer, there is a chance of seeing a flyover Águia-pesqueira, but more likely, there will be plenty of Andorinha-do-mar-comum feeding over the broad. Large gatherings of Andorinha-das-chaminés, Andorinho-dos-beirais and Andorinha-das-barreiras may also be seen. Listen out for the songs of Felosa-comum, Felosa-dos-juncos, rouxinol-dos-caniços and even a Cuco-canoro along the boardwalk trail.
