Potteric Carr is a nature reserve that is managed by Yorkshire Wildlife trust. It's a great habitat with several lakes and large reed beds. A mosaic of habitats with winding woodland trails, networks of ponds and many bird hides. Among the birds you can see are many species of ducks, geese and waders and also Abetouro-comum, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Gavião da Europa, Chapim-de-bigode, Mergulhão-pequeno, Dom-fafe, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Guarda-rios-comum, Rouxinol-bravo, Felosa-dos-juncos and rouxinol-dos-caniços.

From Doncaster take the White Rose Way (A6182), at the roundabout follow the directions for the M18. Potteric Carr Nature Reserve is signposted. From the A1 (southbound) come off at Junction 35 for the M18, then take Junction 3 towards Doncaster and follow signs for the A6182 (White Rose Way). At the first set of lights you reach, turn right into Mallard Way. Park at the visitor centre car park.
Car park has lots of room and access is through the visitor centre, with full details on the website Yorkshire Wildlife Trust website (see link below). Access is free for members (£4.50 for non-mebers), with sightings on a blog (see the link below). Potteric Carr is open seven days a week 9.30am - 5pm. The reserve has around 8 km of paths (5 km accessible to wheelchairs, unassisted), 13 bird hides (10 suitable for people with disabilities) and a visitor centre.
