Parking at west end of wharf, 100m from dock. It is a 15 minutes' walk from North Shields and Tynemouth Metro (light rail) stations.

Worth also walking 1km east (downstream) along the river and viewing Black Midden Rocks at low tide, where gulls gather to roost.
Note that the Fish Quay is a working harbour; be careful not to interrupt or get in the way of people working there.
