Wigpool Common has varied fauna and flora. Gorse, bracken, willow scrub and pinewoods surround the main pool. There are bog asphodel, marsh speedwell and marsh pennywort. Palmate and smooth newts, emperor dragonflies, 4-spotted chasers, hawkers and darters all breed in the pool. Roe and muntjac deer are possibilities. The wooded scrubby area southward towards Puddlebrook is best for birds including pintarroxo-pequeno, Escrevedeira-amarela, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca, Pintarroxo-comum, Pato-mandarim, Galinhola, Trepadeira-azul, Cartaxo-nortenho, Cartaxo-comum and Papa-moscas-cinzento.
