Coral Avenue often has vagrants due to its location as a great vantage point. Seabirds can sometimes be seen after storms from the south of the seawatch. Use a scope to scan south of the seawatch for birds over the water. Often, as in other areas of Cape Island, migrating birds can be observed in the spring and fall.

Park on Harvard Avenue and make sure not to block the driveways of the local residents. Walk towards the intersection of Harvard and Coral Avenue and walk to the top of the platform of the dune crossing. Do not walk on the beach in the summer as beach tags are required. Often there is a count being conducted by skilled counters who are usually quite friendly. Do not bother them too much since the counts there are used for scientific purposes.
