Description
The Nature reserve Nový rybník is an important breeding site for many reedbed birds such as Gușă vânătă, Cârstel de baltă, Lăcar mare, Lăcar mic, Lăcar de stuf, Erete de stuf, Găinușă de baltă or Presură de stuf. On the pond itself breed many pairs of Pescăruș râzător (the only occupied place in Plzensky region), Gâscă de vară, Lișiță, Rață mare and a few pairs of Rață pestriță, Rață cu cap castaniu and Rață moțată. In the rural areas and meadows breed Sfrâncioc roșiatic, Grelușel pătat, Lăcar de mlaștină, Silvie de câmp, Privighetoare roșcată, Ciocârlie and many others.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as Mărăcinar mare, Mărăcinar negru, Rață cârâitoare, Chirighiță neagră and many other species of waterfowl. In last years Cocor is a regular guest here, especially in spring time. In late summer and autumn there is little water, which is suitable for Becațină comună, Nagâț, Fluierar de mlaștină and other waders. In winter Sfrâncioc mare is a regular visitor.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch Graur murmuration (thousands of birds). You can also see Rândunică and Codobatură galbenă.

Access
Easily accesible by car. There is a small parking lot in the south of the pond. You can also arrive by public transport using a bus to the city of Líně and then 20 minutes walking using the unpaved road.
