Description
Falkenhagener See is a shallow, elongated lake in Falkensee. Forests, small settlements, and open spaces surround the lake, giving it a calm, suburban‑nature feel. Falkenhagener See is a glacial lake, about 44 hectares in size, roughly 2.2 km long. In the early 1990s, the lake underwent a major desilting and restoration project to prevent ecological collapse; water levels are now stabilized with inflow from the Havelkanal. The western shore features the Vogelinsel, a small island important for birds. Birds you can see around the lake include Lebădă de vară, Gâscă de vară, Rață moțată, Rață cu cap castaniu, Găinușă de baltă, Lișiță, Pescăraș albastru, Pițigoi sur, Lăcar de stuf, Pițigoi codat, Aușel cu cap galben, Țiclean, Scatiu and Presură de stuf.
