Description
The Kliekener Aue is situated in a dynamic river landscape around old river arm of Alte Elbe. The area is repeatedly flooded. This has resulted in floodplain forest, oxbow lakes, tributary channels of the river and wet meadows. The Elbe valley is a paradise for birds and Klieken is no exception. Birds you can observe include Corb, Sfrâncioc roșiatic, Silvie de câmp, Presură galbenă, Lăcar mare, Codalb, Gaie roșie, Cocor and several species of ducks, grebes, waders and herons. Otter and beaver also occur.
