Description
There are many habitat types in the Lake Bafa site. There are islands, mud flats, reed beds and so on. All these habitat structures attract many birds to the area, such as Rață cu cap castaniu, Lișiță ,Acvilă țipătoare mare ,Acvilă porumbacă, Pelican creț and shore birds, terns, gulls and many more. It easy place to see birds from specific points such as observation towers, platforms or hills and even paved roads are suitable to see birds.
Lake Bafa is a protected area, so it has bird populations where you can get closer to them than in unprotected areas. There is Serçin Village where the abundance and diversity of birds is high, especially in winter and migration periods of the year. The islands in the lake have breeding populations of Cormoran mare and Stârc cenușiu. Also, there are many monuments from Carians, especially around Kapıkırı Village. There is a small bay where the Heraklia take place, this bay can be covered by Lișiță in winter. This bay has big flocks of birds in winter, nice spot to see birds among the monuments. Also, the Mount Latmos has one of the most beautiful and special landscape structure in the Aegean part of Turkey. Nice to be there!

Access
You can reach Lake Bafa by car. There is also public transport to go to the villages. The best way to explore the area is by car, because, around the lake, there are many paved and unpaved roads. Click on a P in the map for directions or coordinates.
