Description
Ailsa Craig is located in the outer Firth of Clyde, 16 km west of mainland Scotland. The island is 340 m high, about 2.5 miles (4 kms) around the base and is made of very hard granite. It has a very large Corb de mare colony, plus colonies of Pescăruș negricios, Pescăruș negru, Alcă nordică, Alcă atlantică, Cormoran moțat, Pescăruș cu trei degete, Alcă cu oglindă and a few Pufin. Offshore Furtunar comun, Ielcovan atlantic mic and Ielcovan brun. Also Presură galbenă and other small birds. Otters and seals.

By boat from Girvan or Ayr on the mainland. See link below. The walking route to the summit is 1,8 km with 300 metres of ascent.
