Description
I was amazed to see that the harbour at low tide is a popular roosting area for autumn migrant flocks of Ploier auriu and Chiră mică. Large numbers of Alcă mică, Pescăruș mic, Lup de mare atlantic, Lup de mare mic, Lup de mare codat, Ielcovan atlantic mic, Ielcovan brun, Pescăruș cu trei degete and Fulmar can be seen from the clifftop walk east of town.
Beyond the Seaton Cliffs reserve, 3 miles on foot from Arbroath, is Seaton Den, a wooded valley frequented by migrant passerines. Rarities like Pitulice cu sprânceană galbenă, Frunzăriță galbenă, Muscar mic and Silvie porumbacă may turn up in autumn.
Cliffs can be steep, take care with children and dogs. There is a tarmac path.
