Description
Brandon Marsh has 8 bird hides situated around the reserve, overlooking pools hosting flocks of Rață fluierătoare, Rață mică and Rață lingurar in winter, amongst smaller numbers of Rață sunătoare. Scrapes host passage waders in spring and autumn, with breeding Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Scoicar and Prundăraș gulerat mic in summer. Other notable breeding species include good numbers of Lăcar de stuf, Lăcar mic and Stufărică, Cuc and Cârstel de baltă. Șoimul rândunelelor are everpresent throughout summer and into autumn. During the winter Brandon is often host to a Caspian Gull which winters amongst the gulls on East Marsh, with a few Yellow-legged Gulls mixed in too. Notable rarities over the last few years have included Prundăraș de nămol and Fugaci pătat, Notatiță cu cioc lat, Capîntortură and Sfrâncioc cu cap roșu.

Located off Brandon lane, best access is by driving but it is possible to cycle or walk from nearby Brandon village or Binley. Once parked, explore the reserve on foot.
