Description
Buckshaw Wood is an area of ancient woodland with diverse trees, birds and wildlife. The area has a big breeding colony of Cioară de semănătură in nesting season. Other birds you can observe include Pițigoi codat, Pițigoi albastru, Pițigoi mare, Pițigoi de brădet, Vrabie de casă, Vrabie de câmp, Lăstun de casă, Silvie mică, Ciocănitoare pestriță mică, Cojoaică de pădure, Pitulice mică, Ochiuboului, Sturz de vâsc and Sturz cântător.

Buckshaw Wood is located in the middle of Buckshaw Village. Parking available in surrounding streets. Press P on the map for directions. Allow up to an hour or 90 minutes if birdwatching. There are well trodden, marked and signposted paths upon visiting. The area is poorly marked on online maps.
