Description
Chard Reservoir has a good hide that enables most of the water to be seen which contains up to 50 Corcodel mare and also Pescăraș albastru, Cormoran mare, Stârc cenușiu and Egretă mică. The surrounding woodland holds Ciocănitoare pestriță mare, Țiclean, Cojoaică de pădure and Pițigoi sur. Lăcar de stuf breeds in the summer and ducks are present in winter.
The surrounding fields are much used by dog walkers, but can be good for butterflies and orchids in summer.

Access
Chard Reservoir is located on the edge of Chard town in Somerset. A car park is situated at the south of the reservoir at the end of Oaklands Avenue, Chard. There are some brown directional signs in Chard to help guide you. Press P on the map for directions to the car park.
There is a hide at the south end of the reservoir through the woodland. There is a wooded walk on the east side of the reservoir which joins another car park at the north end which is sometimes limited to anglers only. There is a cycle path on the west side enabling a circular route, but there are no views of the water from the west side.
