Description
The Deben Estuary is a nationally and internationally significant wintering area for up to 6,000 Ploier auriu, 600 Sitar de mal, Fluierar cu picioare roșii and 400+ Ciocîntors. Also Fugaci de țărm, Fugaci mare, Ploier argintiu and Nagâț. Rață sunătoare at Martlesham Creek and Cufundar mare at Ramsholt. Corcodel mare, Corcodel de iarnă, Corcodel cu gât negru and Cârstel de baltă possible. Small flock of Inăriță cu cioc galben most winters. High tides are best for seeing roosting waders, check tide times and height first (see the link below). Take care not to get cut off by exceptionally high tides.

From Ipswich take A12 to Woodbridge then various minor roads to Waldringfield on south bank or Bawdsey on north bank. Boat hire available Woodbridge or Waldringfield.
