At Ewelme the overgrown watercress beds provide shelter for rodents, which in turn attracts bird predators such as Strigă, Gaie roșie, 3 egret species and Stârc cenușiu. Smaller birds include Florinte, Sticlete, Silvie cu cap negru and Presură de stuf, pursued by Uliu păsărar. King's Pool may have Pescăraș albastru, Corcodel mic, Găinușă de baltă, Rață moțată and Lișiță.

Access
From Oxford take A423 south for 12 miles then minor road left through Benson. There is no car park at the Watercress beds but onstreet parking in the village centre, plus car park near playground. Reserve access is free and unrestricted. Visitor centre admission £3, restricted hours.
