Description
132 bird species have been recorded on the English side of the Mosses alone. Including Șoimul rândunelelor, Șoim călător, Ciuf de câmp, Erete de stuf, Erete vânăt, Egretă mare, Egretă mică, Mărăcinar negru, Sitar de pădure, Caprimulg and Presură sură. Many species of dragonfly, damselfly and 32 butterfly species. Also adders, common lizards, water voles and otters. There is a bird hide and a viewing tower. Good for dragonflies and Șoimul rândunelelor in May.

Access
The Mosses are almost midway between Shrewsbury and Wrexham. From the A49 road, go west in Prees and follow signs to Whixham marina. Parking available on the English side next to the canal, see P on map below. Nearest bus stop 3 miles away, nearest train station at Prees, 4 miles. Access by boat or kayak or canoe along the canal. Wheelchair access.
