Description
At Gunthorpe Gravel Pits 120+ species of bird have been seen, including Ferestraș mic, Ferestraș mare and Ferestraș moțat in winter, when Nagâț, Rață lingurar and teal can be numerous on flooded fields. Spring brings Lăcar de stuf, Lăcar mic, Grelușel pătat to breed, and Chirighiță neagră, Pietrar sur and Mărăcinar mare on migration. In summer, Șoimul rândunelelor hunt swallows over the ponds.
