Description
Hatch Pond might just be thought of as a small lake which is mainly used by fishermen and dog walkers, but really it is one of the hidden gems of the Poole basin. In the reedbed areas around the lake you can occasionally spot a Cârstel de baltă or even a wintering Buhai de baltă from the viewing areas. Waders can occasionally be seen in passage, although there is quite a large amount of Becațină comună. The wildfowl of the lake includes species such as Rață moțată and Rață pestriță, which are often seen around the lake.
