Description
Hemsted Forest is rich in different bird species. It has a gently undulating landscape and a mix of conifers and broad-leaved trees. This makes for some beautiful views across open areas and through the less-dense undergrowth beneath the evergreens. Wide hard-stone surfaced paths criss-cross the forest, together with numerous more wild and less accessible trails. Among the birds you can encounter are Cuc, Sitar de pădure, Uliu porumbar, Șorecar comun, Cucuvea, Huhurez mic, Ciocănitoare pestriță mare, Ghionoaie verde, Corb, Pițigoi de brădet, Pițigoi sur, Pițigoi codat, Silvie cu cap negru, Silvie de zăvoi, Silvie mică, Aușel cu cap galben, Țiclean, Cojoaică de pădure, Ochiuboului, Sturz de vâsc, Sturzul viilor, Cocoșar, Sturz cântător, Cinteză de iarnă, Mugurar, Florinte, Scatiu and Sticlete.

Car park for 60 cars. Click on the P in the map to get directions. Tracks, some inclines some muddy tracks some wheelchair access but mainly walkers. No toilets. No tea rooms. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 7,5 km long.
