From the Rață cu cap negru to the snowy white Pescăruș cu aripi albe, the birds that can turn up at Hollowell Reservoir provide hours of birding. Other bird species you might spot include Notatiță cu cioc lat, Fugaci de țărm, Prundăraș gulerat mare as well as Codobatură galbenă, Pietrar sur, Mărăcinar negru and Fâsă de stâncă. And, if you are lucky, you may even spot Uligan pescar and Șoimul rândunelelor that regularly pay a visit. Access to Hollowell Reservoir Nature Reserve is available for permit holders only. To enjoy the peace and tranquility of the site for either walking, birdwatching, fishing or sailing a permit is required.
