Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Rață sunătoare, Eider, all three diver species, Rață de ghețuri, Corcodel de iarnă, Alcă atlantică, Pescărel negru, Fâsă de stâncă, Scatiu, Cinteză de iarnă, Forfecar, Grelușel pătat, Uligan pescar and Uliu păsărar.

Access

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
