Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (Muscar negru Codroș de pădure), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as Cocoș de mesteacăn, Fluierar de munte and Pescărel negru. Among the other birds you can encounter are Mierlă gulerată, Codobatură de munte, Scatiu and Ciocârlie.
