Description
Southmoor Nature Reserve sits on the edge of Langstone Harbour. Ciocârlie and Fâsă de luncă use the marsh as a breeding site, and a great many waders and wildfowl roost here at high tide. There have been 140 species of birds recorded in the Southmoor area. The scrub areas are home to many species of small birds, including Cânepar, Florinte and Sticlete. The wet grassland is home to a diverse range of wildlife, and southern marsh orchids grow here in abundance. In winter Gâscă neagră is a regular guest. See the extended birdlist below.
