Description

The Ogden Nature Center is a 152-acre nature preserve and education center. The site combines ecological conservation with public education, offering trails, wildlife exhibits, and hands-on programs for all ages. The center is home to diverse habitats including ponds, meadows, and wooded areas. The site has over 1.5 miles of easy walking trails, and some paved paths. There is a duck blind, an observation tower, a visitor center, a playground for children and a gift shop for visitors.

You can observe many songbirds including House Finch, Lesser Goldfinch, Song Sparrow, Black-headed Grosbeak, Yellow Warbler and Yellow-rumped Warbler. Also waterfowl, herons and raptors can be spotted. Some often observed birds include Wood Duck, California Quail, Cooper's Hawk, Belted Kingfisher, Downy Woodpecker, Black-billed Magpie, Cedar Waxwing and Spotted Towhee.

The Ogden Nature Center is located at 966 W 12th Street in Ogden. Opening hours: Monday through Friday 9 am - 5 pm. Saturday 9 am - 4 pm. Closed Sundays and Major holidays. Admission $ 6 (2025). You can drive only with a private car and park at the entrance. Press P on the map for directions. Walk around and look for the resident raptors, and exhibits and explore the different short trails.
