Description
The Nature reserve Nový rybník is an important breeding site for many reedbed birds such as Варакушка, Водяной пастушок, Дроздовидная камышевка, Камышевка-барсучок, Тростниковая камышевка, Болотный лунь, Камышница or Тростниковая овсянка. On the pond itself breed many pairs of Озерная чайка (the only occupied place in Plzensky region), Серый гусь, Лысуха, Кряква and a few pairs of Серая утка, Красноголовый нырок and Хохлатая чернеть. In the rural areas and meadows breed Обыкновенный жулан, Обыкновенный сверчок, Болотная камышевка, Серая славка, Южный соловей, Полевой жаворонок and many others.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as Луговой чекан, Черноголовый чекан, Чирок-трескунок, Чёрная крачка and many other species of waterfowl. In last years Серый журавль is a regular guest here, especially in spring time. In late summer and autumn there is little water, which is suitable for Бекас, Чибис, Фифи and other waders. In winter Серый сорокопут is a regular visitor.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch Обыкновенный скворец murmuration (thousands of birds). You can also see Деревенская ласточка and Жёлтая трясогузка.

Access
Easily accesible by car. There is a small parking lot in the south of the pond. You can also arrive by public transport using a bus to the city of Líně and then 20 minutes walking using the unpaved road.
