Description

The Drachensee (Dragon Lake) is a reservoir of approximately 175 hectares. The lake is divided into four zones. An operational and safety zone, a leisure and recreation zone, an ecological regeneration zone, and a nature experience and environmental education zone. In the ecological zone in the east of the reservoir nature is allowed to regenerate undisturbed. For birdwatching the ecological zone is most interesting.

Birds you can observe include Широконоска, Чирок-трескунок, Чирок-свистунок, Огарь, Большой крохаль, Чибис, Бекас, Перевозчик, Чомга, Малая поганка, Камышевка-барсучок, Тростниковая овсянка, Обыкновенная овсянка, Обыкновенная кукушка, and during migration Скопа.
