Description
The Parc de la Ciutadella is home to a monumental waterfall, pond and romantic English-style garden, surrounded by two tree-lined boulevards. There are also several museums and the Barcelona Zoo on site. The park is good for some easy birding in the city. Among the birds you can encounter are Европейский вьюрок, Московка, Хохлатая синица, Калита, Индийский кольчатый попугай, Малая белая цапля, Египетская цапля, Горная трясогузка, Средиземноморская славка, Славка-черноголовка, Озерная чайка, Средиземноморская чайка, Черноголовая чайка, Белобрюхий стриж, Ополовник and Горихвостка-чернушка. You can even get some surprises from time to time, such as seeing a Священный ибис, Красноголовый сорокопут or Удод.

Access
The Barcelona Metro and Trambesòs station Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica, on L4, is named after the park and the nearby area Vila Olímpica. The entrance to the park, however, is closer to the metro and Rodalies Barcelona (commuter train network) station Arc de Triomf. The city's central bus station Estació del Nord is also close.
