Description

Al Jazirah Khor is a large wetland and coastal protected area extending over 3 kilometers and known for its rich biodiversity and mangrove habitats. The area is rich in migratory and resident birds. The marine wetland is good for waders, gulls, terns, herons, Персидский баклан, Розовый фламинго, Колпица and Украшенный чибис. Рачья ржанка is regularly observed. In the trees and bushes you can find Серый сорокопут, Delicate Prinia and Ававийская дроздовка.

Access

Al Jazirah Khor is located south of the city of Ra's al-Khaimah. You can overlook the wetland from the dune tops and the surrounding area. The coastal resort Anantara Mina Al Arab (1) borders the wetland and is a good base to explore the area.
