Ballard Water Meadow is located in New Milton and consists of a small lake, water meadow and woodland. It is a Site of Importance to Nature Conservation (SINC). Among the birds you can observe are Певчий дрозд, Канадская казарка, Сапсан, Желтоголовый королёк, Белая трясогузка ssp yarrellii, Кряква, Пустельга обыкновенная, Серая цапля, Серебристая чайка, Зарянка, Зяблик, Снегирь, Озерная чайка, Серебристая чайка, Горная трясогузка and Крапивник.

Access
Parking on Lake Grove Road, just up from New Milton Town Centre. The parking is free in marked bay. You can also sit in your car to view the ducks, geese and gulls from the car. But you need to walk to get into the the water meadows and woods. There is also a fairly level track all round the lake.
