Description
Cardiff Bay is good for birds all year round. Residents include Камнешарка, Горихвостка-чернушка, Скальный конёк and Большой крохаль. The first can be seen on the green walkways in groups, whilst the rest can be seen basking on the rocky edges.
Береговушка, Воронок and Чёрный стриж can all be seen in summer. Воронок nest in ready-made boxes under the eaves of houses by the roundabout barrage entrance. Береговушка nest in the walls of the bay.
Кулик-сорока can be seen on the barrage all year round, as well as Травник. Обыкновенная зеленушка is another resident around the bay. When the tide goes out, many species, such as Пеганка can be seen feeding.
Winter visitors include Малая чайка. However, check sightings before going as they tend to move around a lot. Finally, rarities include Черношейная поганка, Морянка and Ошейниковая чернеть.

Easy accessible from Cardiff. Plenty of parking areas available. Click on a P in the map for directions. Walking is possible from Penarth to Barrage. Walking is the best way to explore the area.
