Description
The Deben Estuary is a nationally and internationally significant wintering area for up to 6,000 Золотистая ржанка, 600 Большой веретенник, Травник and 400+ Шилоклювка. Also Чернозобик, Исландский песочник, Тулес and Чибис. Гоголь at Martlesham Creek and Черноклювая гагара at Ramsholt. Чомга, Красношейная поганка, Черношейная поганка and Водяной пастушок possible. Small flock of Горная чечётка most winters. High tides are best for seeing roosting waders, check tide times and height first (see the link below). Take care not to get cut off by exceptionally high tides.

From Ipswich take A12 to Woodbridge then various minor roads to Waldringfield on south bank or Bawdsey on north bank. Boat hire available Woodbridge or Waldringfield.
