Description
Derwent Reservoir is always good for wildfowl, especially for wintering ducks, geese and swans. Скопа nest locally in spring/summer. One of the owl boxes near the hide is often occupied by Сипуха in breeding season. Waders (Малый зуёк, Галстучник, Чибис, Травник, Кулик-сорока, Большой кроншнеп, Перевозчик) and woodland bird species (Большой пёстрый дятел, Обыкновенный поползень, Tit and Finch flocks) are also regular.

Access
Lay-by parking on minor road north from B6306 (Blanchland to Edmunbyers) close to the hide; also off B6306 near Edmundbyers. Can be reached by cycle from Consett or Corbridge but be aware of steep hills. No nearby public transport. See below link for more details.
