Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Гоголь, Обыкновенная гага, all three diver species, Морянка, Красношейная поганка, Гагарка, Оляпка, Скальный конёк, Чиж, Юрок, Клёст-сосновик, Обыкновенный сверчок, Скопа and Перепелятник.

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
