Description

Roosevelt Wetlands is an open field with retention ponds. Birds you can see include Blue-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Mallard, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Roseate Spoonbill, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Osprey, kestrels, vultures, egrets, herons and a variety of small birds during fall/spring migration months. Never known what will show up!

Access

Roosevelt Wetlands is located in middle area of Pinellas County in a business area with some neighborhoods nearby. Small dirt parking lot for maybe 3 cars as you have to walk through the opened fence area. NO Parking in front of chained gate which is for county maintenance. Parking along the right side of the road on the grass is available (under trees). Press a P on the map for directions. Note: the area is very exposed - no shade.
