Around 80 species of breeding birds are recorded annually, including hvizdák veľký, cibík chochlatý, bocian biely , potápka malá, chriašteľ vodný, prepelica poľná, kačica chrapačka, kačica chrapka, kačica lyžičiarka, kačica chripľavka, sokol lastovičiar, kukučka obyčajná, slávik modrák, pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý, trsteniarik bahenný (rarely trsteniarik malý and trsteniarik veľký) and strakoš obyčajný. Large flocks of hus bieločelá use the area during winter, and also a small group of hus malá from a rewilding project in Sweden has established a "tradition" to visit the area for wintering, starting in 2017. In late winter, the area serves as roosting place for hundreds of žeriav popolavý and during spring migration, a great variety of ducks and waders can be encountered. Occasionally, rarities show up (e.g. volavka purpurová, chochlačka bielooká, chriašť malý).
