Description
The Duvenseer Moor is a broad, quiet moorland shaped by the slow infilling of post‑glacial lakes after the last Ice Age. Over the centuries the lakes silted up, peat accumulated, and by the nineteenth century the area was drained and cut for peat, leaving the lowered, open moorland that survives now. In winter the flooded areas serve as a resting and feeding area for many birds. Birds you can observe include hus bieločelá, labuť malá, labuť spevavá, kazarka pestrá, kačica chrapačka, kačica ostrochvostá, kačica chrapka, chochlačka sivá, kukučka obyčajná, žeriav popolavý, cibík chochlatý, hvizdák veľký, bojovník bahenný, močiarnica mekotavá, kaňa sivá, kaňa močiarna, orliak morský, sokol lastovičiar, strakoš obyčajný, fúzatka trstinová, trsteniarik malý, slávik obyčajný, hýľ obyčajný, stehlík čížik and strnádka obyčajná.
