Description
Alaçatı Wetland is a lagoon-like intertidal estuary covering approximately 250 acres, which is formed by a natural watercourse flowing north-south from the Kutlu Aktaş Dam to the Aegean Sea. The area abounds in halophiles marshes, dunes and shallow water channels, and a great variety of maquis or scrubland vegetation. The wetland provides feeding, shelter and breeding grounds for many bird species. plameniak ružový is seen throughout the year. In addition, bird species such as kazarka hrdzavá, kalužiak sivý, kalužiak červenonohý, kulík morský, pobrežník čiernozobý, bojovník bahenný, pobrežník malý, čajka žltonohá, čorík bahenný, včelárik zlatý, lastovička červenochrbtá, strnádka sivokrká, šišila bocianovítá, cistovník ryšavý and bocian čierny are some of the other species seen in the area.
