Lake Erçek is surrounded by mountains and hills. The patchy reedbeds and mudflats attracts many bird species. During the breeding season it is easy to see potápnica bielohlavá and during the autumn hus malá flocks are coming to the lake area. On the other side, there are many other species to see such as kazarka hrdzavá, plameniak ružový, chavkoš nočný, hus divá, lelek lesný, žeriav popolavý and chochlačka sivá.
