Description
Brandon Marsh has 8 bird hides situated around the reserve, overlooking pools hosting flocks of kačica hvizdárka, kačica chrapka and kačica lyžičiarka in winter, amongst smaller numbers of hlaholka severská. Scrapes host passage waders in spring and autumn, with breeding kalužiak červenonohý, lastúrničiar strakatý and kulík riečný in summer. Other notable breeding species include good numbers of trsteniarik bahenný, trsteniarik malý and cetia západná, kukučka obyčajná and chriašteľ vodný. sokol lastovičiar are everpresent throughout summer and into autumn. During the winter Brandon is often host to a Caspian Gull which winters amongst the gulls on East Marsh, with a few Yellow-legged Gulls mixed in too. Notable rarities over the last few years have included brehárik ploskozobý and pobrežník škvrnitý, lyskonoh ploskozobý, krutohlav hnedý and strakoš červenohlavý.

Located off Brandon lane, best access is by driving but it is possible to cycle or walk from nearby Brandon village or Binley. Once parked, explore the reserve on foot.
