Description
Nedern Brook Wetlands is an area of rough and cultivated pasture, scrub and some trees. Breeding birds such as kalužiak červenonohý, trasochvost žltý, muchár sivý and strnádka trstinová, augmented when flooded by passage waders, labuť malá, up to 1,000 kačica hvizdárka, beluša malá, hltavka chochlatá and volavka popolavá. In dry summers, persicaria, yellow rattle, willowherb and thistles abound, providing food for finches.

Access
Easy access from M48 or M4. Car parks (free) at west end of interesting Roman village of Caerwent, or at Caldicot castle. 3 small laybys on Crick to Caldicot road, opposite David Broome Equestrian Centre. Footpaths cross the area but inaccessible when flooded. Click on a P in the map to get directions to a parking.
