Marais du Douhet is particularly interesting because it brings together a great diversity of species, sometimes in high density and at all times of the year.
Among the nesting birds are the rdečenogi martinec, the polojnik, the svilnica, the brškinka, the navadna postovka or the duplinska kozarka. During migration, the ploskokljuni liskonožec or the šmarnica are passing through. In winter, grivasta gos, zlata prosenka and priba are stationed on the site.
All year round shorebirds, ducks, gulls, herons, grebes and many others are present.
