Description
The Ostergauer Weiher is an area of ponds rich in fish surrounded bij reed beds and dry and wet meadows. More than 170 different bird species have been observed in the Ostergau since 1970 and about 40 bird species breed in the area. čapljica and trstni strnad breed regularly, rakar, trstni cvrčalec and kobiličar from time to time. The Ostergau is also used as a resting place by migrants. Sometimes rarities such as modra taščica, ribji orel, mlinarček, vijeglavka and smrdokavra show up. More regular birds of the area include priba, mali ponirek and bela štorklja.

Access
A small network of paths leads past the ponds. You can park on the small parking along the Rötelbergstrasse. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking you can explore the area on foot. Traveling by public transport you can take the train to Willisau. From the train station in Willisau it is about a 2 km walk to reach the Ostergauer Weiher.
