Description
A delta formed where the river Göksu flows into the Mediterranean. The Göksu Delta has many habitat types such as freshwater lake, lagoon, river, dune, seasonal lake, irrigated and non-irrigated land, marsh vegetation, saltmarsh, beach and more. However, the delta is intensively used by locals and tourists. At least 332 bird species have been recorded there (Magnin, G and Yarar, M., 1997).
Especially in winter, there are many waterfowl you can see. The area is impressive during migration. However, in summer, the area can be silent in terms of bird activity and abundance. This is the last and ex breeding area of marmorna raca in Turkey.
