The estuary of the River Axe is full of coastal wading birds such as progastorepi kljunač, školjkarica, mala bela caplja and rdečenogi martinec, a range of ducks including žličarica, žvižgavka and kreheljc, and heathland birds like vrbji kova ek, poljski škrjanec and navadna postovka.
A visit close to high tide is best, forcing birds to high tide roosts and fields/saltmarsh. See a link to the tide table below.

There is parking in Weston Super Mare, but it is best explored on foot. Also parking on the beach. Click on a P in the map to get directions. The circular route indicated on the map is about 2,5 km.
